It’s a good news for all the passport aspirants as the duration of police verification has been reduced and Bangalore police department reported that the passport verification will be made online very soon. It’s a proud feeling that Bangaloreans are the first ones in India to avail this.
Police verification process has been reduced to 23 days from 43 days, recently the Passport officer P.S Karthikeyan announced.
The police verification which is a part of Passport process will be made online and will be on action from 2015. Using the database of the crime and criminal tracking networking system (CCTNS), verification will be made and the address confirmation will happen through District police. The biometric data, photo, address, aadhar card, criminal history and the remaining details can be easily verified and CCTNS includes data of more than 14,000 police stations in the country.
