Few days back, the ministry of affairs has announced that Citizens of India can receive their passport within a week by just submitting four documents.
Referring to Sushma Swaraj’s tweet, passport would be issued if an application is submitted with copies of the Aadhar card, Voter ID and PAN card with an affidavit (Annexure 1) of no criminal case which includes family details and citizenship.
As per the new procedure, police verification will be done later if the submitted documents are validated. Adding on, an appointment can be chosen from the first available date for passport related services.
So what you need to do?
- Book an appointment from the first five available dates at the closest PSK.
- Carry Aadhar card, Voter ID, PAN card and Affidavit with no criminal case.
- Fill in the passport application and submit the same with the above documents.
- Once the granting officer approves your submission, you’ll be receiving a passport within a week.
