Interior Designing may seem like an intimidating task to most of us. Not all of us have the flair for design and detail. However, there are some formulas you can follow, or building blocks which will help you create a design that works. Have a look at the best interior design ideas below:
1. Shopkeeping a budget in mind
Have a clear idea of the things you are going to buy before you go shopping. Also calculate a budget and stick to it. There will be things which you’ll fall in love with as soon as you see them, but you have to think before buying, because it might not always go well with your interior. Buyer’s Remorse feels awful, so make sure you are careful to avoid it by thinking thoroughly before making a purchase.
2. Spend on your sofa
Your sofas will be with you for a long time. So it’s best that you invest your money in the right ones. There are a lot of things to look into before buying a sofa, like the size, fabric, color, etc. It is recommended that you choose the best quality sofa, that is comfortable, whose fabric will last long, and has a design which you won’t get bored with too soon.
3. Buy fabrics and textiles before painting
A common mistake that people do is that they paint the room before buying the sofas and fabrics, like rugs and curtains and cushions. It is easy to find paint which will go well your fabrics, but once you paint the room, there is no way back. You will have to find sofas and fabrics which you love, and should go with the paint as well. This won’t be easy. Instead, first find the fabrics that you love, and select a shade from them or one that compliments them for the paint. Then you start painting!
4. Decide one point of focus
Make sure there is at least one point (large rooms can have two) of focus in a room. Keeping that in mind, you can arrange the furniture facing it or around it. In rooms with a television, it is easy as the TV can be that point, and furniture like sofas or chairs will face it. Other rooms can get a little difficult, like sitting rooms or dens. The point of focus in such rooms can be a coffee table, a painting, a gaming table, or anything else your creative mind can come up with. Without a point of focus, the place will just look like a scattered mess.
5. Mix and match, don’t match and match
When you go shopping for the interior, you may feel the urge to buy everything from one store. But do not give into it. Shopping everything from one place will make everything match, hence boring! You don’t want everything to match. Mixing up items and colors will give the room a more vibrant look.
6. Don’t hang the curtains too low
Hanging the curtains low, like just above the window doesn’t look very good, and it’ll make the room look small. Let the curtains be as high as possible near the ceiling, to give the appearance of larger room and larger windows. Also, make sure there is enough space on the rod on both sides, such that the curtain doesn’t cover the window at all when it’s open, to allow natural light into the room.
7. Buy a rug of the right size
A rug can have the largest potential to transform the appearance of the room beside the paint or wallpaper since it occupies a great visual area. Generally, it’s best to find the largest rug you can fit in the room, while still showing 12-18 inches of flooring on the edges. Another good idea is to make sure that at least the front legs of the furniture stay on the rug. In the dining area, make sure that the rug is big enough to accommodate the chairs even when pushed back.
8. Use lighter shades of paint for smaller rooms
If you want to make the small room look larger, paint it with light colors. However, if you want the room to feel cozy, you can always go with a darker shade. If it’s the living room we are talking about, light or white is the best choice!
9. Don’t clutter the bedroom
Your bedroom should give out peaceful and relaxing vibes. Cluttering it with too many unnecessary items will just make it distracting. Get rid of all the items that you can do without.
10. Light is the key
Make sure that your house is well lit. Let natural light enter the room from the windows. You can also enhance the natural light by using mirrors placed opposite to the source so that they reflect it back in the room.
11. Be patient with interior design
Implementing interior design ideas will take time. Don’t buy something just to complete the decor. Wait and find something that you love, and will suit the room. This will build the character of your home. Your personality will shine through it. It may take some time to find exactly the right pieces; it will be worth the wait though.

I really liked your mix and match concept. Even I am a kind of person who did like to experiment with the available options but simultaneously also I love to keep things very simple as it shown in the picture.
