In our life, most of the times we think that the bigger things gives happiness and satisfaction however here is an interesting story that touches your heart and conveys that happiness is in the smallest things and in those smallest moments.
A small house in Mumbai owned by a retired teacher where he and his wife lived. Shyamsundar was a Government English teacher and a respected person in the area. Their only son Abhiram lives in Bangalore working as a Doctor settled with his wife and children. Life was good for his son but the old parents lived cherishing the old moments when they used to live together.
One evening in Bangalore, Abhiram while searching for some file finds an old broken toy of horse dusted in the cupboard. With all colour faded away, horse looked like the wrinkled face of an old lady. He ignored at the first sight but for no reason he took it in his hands and it was his father’s first gift to him on his birthday. With extreme care he takes that toy in his lap and goes down the memory lane and as the time passed away, his eyes were filled with tears of joy.
The next moment he took the picture of those photos and thought to send it to his father through whatsapp but suddenly he remembers that his dad is not technology friendly. Heartbroken Abhiram didn’t get what to do and spent that evening cherishing the memories.
He woke up in the morning with an idea to rebuild that broken toy and send it as a gift to his father on his birthday. Abhiram booked a Carpenter and spent the whole day with him and gave a new shape to that old broken toy and sent it to his father by courier.
“Shyam sundar ghar pe hein? Courier aaya he”, a voice echoed in the small house in Mumbai. The old shyam sundar wearing dhoti and a cotton shirt with a newspaper in hand opened the door. Adjusting his spectacles, he received the courier and the next moment he ran like a baby with all happiness to his wife, “dekho kaun courier bheja he Meera”. Both were surprised to see the toy and a letter read,
“Hi Paapa! Happy Birthday.
I am gifting you that first gift that you had presented to me on my first birthday, Hope you like it”.
The father shed tears and overwhelmed with joy.
