Let me start with a question. Who is a Yogi? Many of us know the answer but fail to express it in words. Am I right? In my understanding a Yogi is the one who does every small and minute work with sheer devotion and love. A man who is watching a bird with an immense concentration is a Yogi. A person who is experiencing joy in a sip of tea is a Yogi because he is doing that with utter consciousness and extreme dedication. So there is a Karma in it, which means work that transform a yogi into a Karma Yogi.
In our daily life, we work from morning to evening to earn our bread and butter. Can we come to a conclusion that we all are Karma Yogis? No unless one has that dedication and love towards his work. In this context let me introduce you to few people to whom we don’t give so much of respect but we are dependent on them for a smoother life.
Kappanna, professionally a plumber. His job is to repair the broken pipes, leakage and bathroom fittings etc. Very few choose this profession by choice and the rest choose by force. Knowing the fact that plumbing do not provide him enough of money, he is doing it. Most of them say that he is uneducated but plumbing is also a skill which you and I do not know. Kappanna is a Karma Yogi because he has developed that passion towards his work and his contribution to the society is inevitable.
Raju, a paper boy whose job is to distribute papers to every house in the city. He wakes up in the early morning, carry the papers in a bicycle and delivers it in a cold weather. Money is a priority but the dedication he has towards his work makes him a true Karma Yogi.
There are electricians who strive for our safety, carpenters who carve our dreams, delivery boys who bring happiness to our doorstep, Dhobi’s who make us shine and cleaners are the real face behind Swacch Bharath. Are they not Karma Yogis? Yes I call them as Karma Yogis
