There is one such village in India where people do not have doors on their houses. Well, it’s not that they are poor or Government over there is irresponsible but everything is intentional.
The village name is “Shani shingapur” which is known for the fact that no house in the village has doors but only door frames. Also known as ‘Sonai’ situated in Nevasa Taluka in Ahmadnagar district of Maharastra. Here people do not keep the valuable things under lock and key yet till now (2010) no theft activities has been reported. Why people are so unafraid here? What is the mystery behind?
It is all due to the local deity Shri Shaneshwara ( Hindu God of the planet saturn). People in sonai believe that God punishes anyone attempting theft. The tourists who come here can leave their valuables in the car with all the doors unlocked and no one dares to steal it even in their dream. God in this region is so powerful and true that once the owner has got the things stolen back and the thief was severely injured after that.

A five and half black rock feet installed on open-air platform symbolizes the god shani. Usually the temple has 30-40,000 devotees visiting and the number swells close to three lakhs during Amavasya (the new moon day) which is believed to be the auspicious day to appease the god.
The temple is open for 24 hours for everyone and people themselves can perform puja and there is no interference of purohits here ( Women are not allowed near deity)
